Medical marijuana, in the form of candy, was confiscated during a drug bust in southwest Missouri. Barry County Sheriff Mike Epperly said this was the first time he has seen candy laced with THC in his jurisdiction. Authorities believe the drugs were being shipped in from Colorado to Cassville, Missouri. Sheriff Epperly warned local parents about this situation possibly interfering with Halloween. He asks all parents to check labels before their children consume any candy, because the confiscated drugs were in packages with the amount of THC in bold print in plain view. Medical professionals advice parents to contact poison control if their child has consumed any edible forms of these drugs. Nausea and abnormal heart rates can be a side affect of young children consuming the marijuana laced candy. No immediate health risks or reports have been documented yet.
